Are you active in the game of life? I was trained in Sports Massage, and began working with athletes and teams, within my first year as a Massage Therapist. But after years of working with competitive athletes in the Aspen Valley, I learned why Sports Massage should be a top choice for non-athletes.

First, ask yourself these questions:

How fast do you want to recover from strenuous physical activity? How sore do you want to feel after exercise? How soon would you like to feel the effects of your workouts?

You may have more in common with athletes than you think. Athletes are motivated to play their sport. They enjoy their sport and enjoy playing it. So, naturally, they want to be playing it as much as they can. But you can't play if you are feeling sore, or tired, from previous workouts or events. Maybe you enjoy gardening, hiking, tennis, swimming, or simply, walking your dog. Whichever activities bring you joy, sports massage can keep you "in the game".

Athletes are motivated to recover faster from rigorous activity and injury. Time spent in recovery is time spent not playing, and often, it's money lost. Athletes don't want to wait for soreness or stiffness to dissipate. They want to spring back quickly. They want to feel energized, not tired. Just like athletes, you want to recover quickly after rigorous activity or an injury. Sports massage can help you to get "back in the game", whether your game is pickleball or life.

Athletes are motivated to feel their best, and they practice self-care to ensure that their bodies are running smoothly. If an athlete is given a self-care routine, they'll do it. Whether it's a strained muscle, limited range of motion due to an injury, or fatigue from training, an athlete will practice self-care to heal themselves and feel good. This may include getting sports massage, ice, compression wraps, better nutrition, and saunas. If you are motivated to heal your body and feel your best, then massage should be part of your self-care routine.

Do you participate in a team or individual sport? Do you aspire to perform better, recover faster, and improve your skills?
